Excel column conventions

FrameColor

Section titled “FrameColor”

Use FrameColor when you want Excel to send colors back to the Frame viewer.

  • The name must match exactly.
  • The values can come from manual cell colors or conditional formatting logic.

Additional color columns

Section titled “Additional color columns”

Use this pattern when you want multiple saved color strategies:

FrameColor: AnyNameYouWant

These can appear as selectable options in the viewer when supported by the workflow.

Refresh status column

Section titled “Refresh status column”

When you refresh an existing table against an updated model, review the status output to understand what changed:

  • Added
  • Changed
  • Removed

Practical recommendation

Keep these columns stable across workbook revisions. A predictable column structure makes refresh and reporting workflows easier to maintain.
