Excel Add-In workflow overview

The Frame Excel Add-In turns Excel into a working environment for BIM analysis instead of a one-time export target.

Open the Frame Excel Add-In

The most useful pattern is:

  1. Open the add-in and load a translated model.
  2. Export the properties you actually need.
  3. Build a filtered flat table.
  4. Use viewer and sheet interactions to validate the data in 3D.
  5. Add color logic or pivot summaries.
  6. Refresh the table when the model changes.
  7. Extend the sheet into Power BI when needed.

Keep 3D context connected to rows, filters, and selections inside Excel.

Color elements

Apply FrameColor columns so Excel logic becomes spatial color in the viewer.

Pivot tables

Summarize BIM data quickly without losing the ability to validate it in 3D.

Refresh tables

Update an existing workbook when a new version of the model is available.

Connect to Power BI

Treat Excel as the operational layer and Power BI as the reporting layer.
