Color elements
Use a dedicated color column
Section titled “Use a dedicated color column”To color model elements from Excel, create a column named exactly:
FrameColor
Frame reads this column and uses it as a color source for the viewer.
You can also create additional named color columns with this pattern:
FrameColor: AnyNameYouWant
This makes it possible to maintain multiple color strategies in the same sheet.
Ways to assign colors
Section titled “Ways to assign colors”- Fill the Excel cells manually with the colors you want.
- Use conditional formatting rules to generate colors from logic that already exists in the workbook.
Typical use cases
Section titled “Typical use cases”- color by level
- color by package
- color by estimating status
- color by review status
- color by procurement priority
Apply the colors
Section titled “Apply the colors”Once the color column is ready, use the add-in action that applies the color mapping back into the viewer.
Important rule
Section titled “Important rule”If the column is not named FrameColor or a valid FrameColor: Name variant,
